How to practice Grounding when you can't be in nature

Grounding is a tool that can be used to help us feel more connected and calm during times of high stress or anxiety.

Quite literally, grounding is making connection with the ground. Using the Earth's magnetic pull to help us feel more stable and secure. The best way to do this is walking around barefoot!

I recently saw a photo making the rounds, claiming that a 2,300 year old Scythian shoe was found in with magnetic plates on the bottom. Turns out, that was speculation - but maybe our ancestors were onto something back then!

While being out in nature is an excellent way to ground, sometimes we need to connect when we aren't able to be outdoors. If that's the case, try these methods to ground from your home or office:

🌿 Count your heartbeat with your eyes closed or eyelids soft

🌿 Take off your shoes and feel your feet on the solid ground / floor beneath you

🌿 Take 10 deep belly breaths

🌿 Make a cup of tea and drink it slowly (without looking at your phone or a screen if you can!)

🌿 Light a candle and take a moment to watch the flame

Let me know how these methods made you feel in the comments!
